What was the site of a student sit in to support desegregation Southern universities?
Several Southern universities were the sites of student sit-ins to support desegregation, but a prominent example is Greensboro, North Carolina's, Woolworth's lunch counter. While not technically a university, it was the catalyst for widespread sit-ins at many Southern universities and colleges which followed. Students at universities across the South then organized their own sit-ins on campus and in nearby towns to demand desegregation of university facilities and public spaces.
