How many days school can you miss in NC?

According to the North Carolina General Statutes, students may miss up to 15 school days per year for "excused" absences. Excused absences include:

- Illness or injury

- Medical appointments

- Death in the family

- Religious holidays

- Court appearances

- Educational trips approved by the school board

- Other absences approved by the school principal

If a student misses more than 15 days of school, they may be subject to disciplinary action, including loss of credit, suspension, or expulsion.
