1. Convert each of your grades to a number value using a grade point scale. Typical grade point scales are as follows:
* A = 4.0
* B = 3.0
* C = 2.0
* D = 1.0
* F = 0.0
2. Multiply each grade point value by the number of credits for that course. For example, if you earned a B in a 3-credit course, you would calculate this as 3.0 * 3 = 9.0.
3. Add up all of the grade points for all of your courses. In this example, if you took four courses and earned a B in each, you would have a total of 36 grade points.
4. Divide the total grade points by the total number of credits. In this example, you would divide 36 by 12 (4 courses * 3 credits each) to get a GPA of 3.0.
