Singing is a way for your students to learn about the rainbow. According to "Chicago Children's Museum," the process of singing induces the memory and new learning. If you want your kindergartners to quickly learn and remember the colors of the rainbow, allow your students to sing the rainbow song.
Cut out a rainbow shape to show your kids how the three primary colors -- red, yellow and blue -- can create secondary colors such as orange, green and purple. Have your students paint the top of the rainbow red. Then have them apply yellow paint underneath the red. Have them apply another coat of yellow paint at the bottom edge of the red paint to create an orange color. Then have them add blue underneath the color yellow.Tell students to apply another coat of blue paint to the bottom edge of the yellow paint to create a green color and then apply another coat of red underneath the blue color to create purple. This should be a fun and exciting activity for your students.
Create a rainbow milk activity. Inform the children that the milk is not drinkable. Provide each student with a shallow clear container of milk. Don't fill the cup too high. Place a couple of drops of different colors of food coloring in different spots on the milk. Allow the students to dip a toothpick into some dish soap, then dip it into the milk. Your students will see a colorful, swirling surprise.
You can give rainbow coloring activities, which should be fun for your kindergartners to create. Provide students with a rainbow coloring sheet red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple crayons so that they can begin their rainbow coloring activity.
