The new register number format for Anna University is as follows:

Example:
For a student in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch with the initials "RG" and a serial number of 25, the new register number would be:

The branch codes are as follows:
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): CSE
- Information Technology (IT): IT
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): ECE
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE): EEE
- Mechanical Engineering (ME): ME
- Civil Engineering (CE): CE
- Chemical Engineering (CHE): CHE
- Biotechnology (BT): BT
- Pharmaceutical Engineering (PE): PE
- Fashion Technology (FT): FT
- Textile Technology (TT): TT
Initials:
The initials should be the first two letters of the student's name in uppercase.
Serial Number:
The serial number is a unique number assigned to each student.
Please note that this is the new format for register numbers and it is not yet in use by Anna University. It is expected to be implemented in the near future.
