Point your Internet browser to Scholastic.com and hover over "Student Activities" in the main menu.
Select "Reading Response" from the drop-down menu and then click "Write a Review." The book review form will open.
Enter the title of the book and the author of the book you want to review.
Click the drop-down arrow next to "What type of book is it?" and select the genre of the book you want to review. For example, if your child is reviewing a book by R.L. Stine, he will probably select "Spooky" as the genre.
Write something interesting you found in the book in the form next to "Tell one interesting thing about the book." For example, you can write about certain information in the book or events you found interesting.
Write your review for the book in the form next to "Explain why you liked or didn't like the book." Use complete sentences and write about the impression this book made on you. If you liked or disliked the book, make sure to write why and refer to information from the book to support your opinion to make your review stronger.
Enter your first name and last initial in the form, and then select your grade level and state. This information will show up beside your review on Scholastic's website.
Review the information you submitted in the forms and check your review to make sure you included everything you feel potential readers need to know. After you review the form, click "Submit" to send your review to Scholastic so they can read and publish it if it meets their requirements.
