Internal Citations & SmartBoard Lessons

Learning how to write internal citations when writing a research paper is an important skill to learn when you are writing papers during college. This allows you to cite your information sources as you write. SmartBoard lessons are becoming an integral part of K-12 education and can be used with every grade level. The lessons are interactive and make learning enjoyable as well.
  1. Internal Citations

    • Writing internal citations is not difficult and will enable you to keep track of the sources you used for your paper as you write. Depending on the type of source you are citing, the citation format will vary.

Internal Citation Formats for Books and Print Media

    • When the internal citation you have cited is a book with one author, the citation format is as follows: write your text or quote and then, in parenthesis, cite the the author's last name and the page. If the citation involves the editor being the author of the book you are citing, cite the editor's last name and the page number also in parenthesis. If you are citing information from an encyclopedia, the citation will be the title of the entry, name of the encyclopedia and the page number.

    SmartBoard Lessons for K-5

    • SmartBoard lessons for kindergarten through 5th grade enable the students to have fun while learning. There are lessons that let the students throw bean-filled, fabric colored balls at the whiteboard to unlock questions, lessons for rhyming words and sound recognition and lessons that teach the difference between fiction and nonfiction.

    SmartBoard Lessons for 6-12

    • SmartBoard lessons for 6th through 8th grade include lessons on foreign languages, mythology, prime numbers, westward expansion, the rock cycle and types of rocks. SmartBoard lessons for 9th through 12th grade include lessons on ecology, optical illusion, and astronomy. At the high school level, there are lessons that cover high school age-appropriate literature, such as "Catcher in the Rye" and "Lord of the Flies."
