What is intended curriculum?

The intended curriculum refers to the official, planned curriculum that a school or educational institution intends to implement. It's the ideal, the vision. This includes:

* Learning objectives and goals: What students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of a course or program.

* Curriculum guides and syllabi: Detailed outlines of the topics, activities, and assessments that will be used to achieve the learning objectives.

* Teaching materials and resources: Textbooks, worksheets, software, and other materials that support instruction.

* Assessment methods: How student learning will be measured (tests, projects, presentations, etc.).

Essentially, it's the written plan, the blueprint for what's supposed to happen in the classroom. It's important to note that the intended curriculum is often different from what actually happens in practice (the implemented curriculum) and what students ultimately learn (the achieved curriculum).
