In Britain and the US do students address their female teachers as miss?

In neither Britain nor the US do students routinely address their female teachers as "Miss" anymore. The usage is largely outdated.

* Historically: "Miss" was common, particularly for unmarried female teachers.

* Currently: In both countries, students typically address female teachers as "Ms." (regardless of marital status), "Mrs." (if they know the teacher is married and prefers it), or simply by their last name (e.g., "Ms. Smith," "Mrs. Jones"). Using the teacher's first name is generally only acceptable if the teacher explicitly invites it.
