Can a teacher change your semester grade after grades are due?

Generally, no. Once grades are officially due and submitted, a teacher shouldn't be able to change a semester grade. There are very few exceptions:

* Clerical Errors: If there's a demonstrable clerical error (e.g., a wrong score entered, a missing assignment mistakenly not included), the teacher *might* be able to correct it. However, this usually requires documentation and approval from the school administration.

* School Policy: Some schools may have specific procedures for late grade changes under exceptional circumstances, but these are rare and usually require substantial justification.

* Administrative Oversights: Extremely rarely, an administrative error might necessitate a grade change, but this is outside the teacher's direct control.

In almost all cases, once the deadline passes, the grade is considered final. If a student believes there's an error, they should contact the teacher *before* the deadline to resolve it.
