What GCSEs do you need to be a primary teacher?

You don't need specific GCSEs *named* to become a primary school teacher, but you need GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) in a minimum of five subjects, including English and maths, at grade 4/C or above. Beyond that, there is no prescribed subject combination. However, strong grades across the board are beneficial for getting onto a teacher training course.
