Joanne Kathleen "J.K." Rowling (born 31 July 1965), also known by her pen name Robert Galbraith, is a British author, philanthropist, screenwriter, and film producer. Her most notable works are the Harry Potter fantasy series and the Cormoran Strike crime series.
J.K. Rowling studied French and Classics at the University of Exeter. After graduating, she worked as a researcher and bilingual secretary for Amnesty International in London. She also taught English as a foreign language in Portugal.
