How to Convert Liters Per Hour to Centimeters Per Second

Liters per hour and cubic centimeters per second both measure a liquid's rate of flow. Liters and cubic centimeters are units of metric volume and describe how much liquid has passed through a certain point in a given amount of time, expressed in minutes and seconds. Because the units are related, they can be converted. You do this using conversion factors, which describe the quantitative relationship between the two units.

Instructions

    • 1

Multiply the number of liters by 1,000 to convert liters to cubic centimeters.

For example, 2 liters equals 2,000 cubic centimeters.

    • 2

Multiply one hour by 3,600 to convert hours to seconds.

      One hour equals 3,600 seconds.

    • 3

Divide the number of cubic centimeters by the number of seconds.

2,000 cubic centimeters divided by 3,600 seconds equals 0.56 cubic centimeters per second.
