How are basc-2 prs-c scored I want to self score my sons the school here likes change things?

The BASC-2 PRS-C (Behavior Assessment System for Children-2 Parent Rating Scale-Child Symptom Version) is a child behavior rating scale designed to assess a child's emotional and behavioral symptoms. It is scored by summing the items within a certain response, then multiply by the frequency code. The resulting scores can be used to identify areas of concern and create an intervention plan.

Each item can be scored from 0-3 based off the following:

0 = Never

1 = Sometimes

2 = Often

3 = Almost Always

The BASC-2 PRS-C is comprised of 12 domains:

- School problems

- Attention problems

- Conduct problems

- Hyperactivity

- Emotional dysregulation

- Anxiety

- Depression

- Somatization

- Withdrawal

- Atypicality

- Aggression

- Antisocial behavior

To score the BASC-2 PRS-C:

1. Start with the first item in the scale.

2. Read the item and decide which frequency is the best fit from 0-3 for the child.

3. Multiply the frequency code by the response code.

4. Enter into the corresponding domain category.

5. Repeat steps 1-4 for all items in the scale.

6. Add up the scores for each domain.

7. Compare your child's scores to the norms for children of the same age and gender.

8. Discuss your child's scores with a mental health professional to get a comprehensive understanding of their behavior.
