What happend at the Aviation High School in Cleveland OHIO?

On October 27, 1993, a 17-year-old boy named Kip Kinkel opened fire at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon, killing two students and wounding two others.

The shooting began in the school's crowded cafeteria, where Kip first shot and killed Benjamin Walker, and wounded Mikael Nickolauson and Ryan Atteberry. Kip then entered a nearby English class and shot and killed his English teacher, Maurice "Buzz" Moore, and wounded student Misty Guglielmucci.

Kip then fled the school and went to his home, where he killed his parents before turning himself in to the police.

The Thurston High School shooting was a senseless tragedy that shocked the community and nation. It raised important questions about school safety and the availability of guns to young people.

In the wake of the shooting, the Oregon Legislature passed a law requiring background checks for all gun purchases, except for those made at gun shows. Oregon also passed a law allowing schools to adopt policies that prohibit students from bringing guns onto school grounds.

The Thurston High School shooting is a reminder that school shootings are a real and serious problem. It is important for schools to take steps to ensure the safety of their students and staff, and for parents to talk to their children about the dangers of guns and violence.
