How many high school relationships stay together out of school?

There's no definitive answer to how many high school relationships last beyond high school. Studies on this topic are limited and often produce varying results due to different methodologies and populations sampled. However, the general consensus is that a very small percentage of high school relationships survive the transition to post-secondary education and beyond. Estimates often range from less than 2% to perhaps as high as 20%, but the higher end of that range is likely an overestimate and includes relationships that may have only lasted a short time after high school.

Several factors contribute to this low success rate:

* Life changes: Going to college, starting careers, and moving away geographically often strain relationships.

* Personal growth: Individuals change significantly during this period, and their priorities and goals may diverge.

* Maturity levels: High school relationships are often based on different levels of maturity and emotional intelligence compared to adult relationships.

* External pressures: New social circles and competing priorities can impact the relationship's stability.

In short, while some high school sweethearts do make it, it's considered a rare occurrence.
