How did C.S. Lewis get sent to a boarding school?

Clive Staples Lewis was sent to a boarding school because his mother, Flora Lewis, passed away when he was nine years old. His father, Albert James Lewis, was unable to properly care for him and his older brother, Warren Hamilton Lewis, so they were sent to live with their paternal grandparents in Belfast. There, they attended Campbell College, a co-educational boarding school.
