What is in Scottish Gaelic?
Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig, pronounced [ˈkaː.likʲ]) is a Goidelic language native to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. One of three indigenous languages of Scotland, it belongs to the Celtic branch of the Indo-European language family. The language's Gaelic name Gàidhlig [ˈɣɛː.likʲ] (older spelling: Gaedhealg [ˈɡɛː.(j)əlˠɡ]) simply means "Gaelic", and does not distinguish Scottish Gaelic from other Goidelic languages such as Irish and Manx.
