How do we first learn that uncle podger does not things in a very organised manner?

The story begins with Uncle Podger explaining that he is going to hang a picture. He starts by rummaging through his toolbox, looking for the right tools. He can't find them, so he asks his nephew to help him look. They eventually find the tools, but Uncle Podger can't remember where he put the picture. He finds the picture, but then he can't find the hammer. He finally finds the hammer, but then he realizes that he doesn't have any nails. He goes to the store to buy nails, but when he comes back, he can't find the picture again.
