Connect the fish with the locking mechanism located on the tail and mouth. The locking mechanism snaps in place, just like a puzzle piece. Create words by locking the fish in place. Since there are only 54 fish with letters (27 uppercase and 27 lowercase letters), spell simple words with non-repeating letters, such as "cat" and "dog."
String fish together with a strand of string looped through each fish's eye hole. The small opening in the eye is specifically made for string. Tie a series of fish together to spell words or group together specific letters together to hang as a display. For example, string together the letters A, E, I, O and U for a vowel display. String together the remaining letters for a consonant display. Then string upper- and lowercase letters together as a display to teach children the characteristics of each form.
Wash dirty fish pieces with water and a dry towel. The fish are made of non-toxic, washable foam. Water will not cause any damage to the pieces.
