How to Use Pictures in Teaching Children

Incorporating colorful and fascinating picture books into story time will assist in making children's imaginations come alive. Using a visual aid will help children retain information faster. When teaching the alphabet to preschool and kindergarten-aged students, use pictures of objects that begin with the specific letter sound your class is concentrating on. By hearing the same beginning sound, kids will realize that the letter directly corresponds with the object in the pictures. Following is a game that will incorporate motor skills and art time together, by allowing the students to draw and color pictures of letter sounds.
