Determine the length of the cube's sides. Because all sides are equal on a cube, you only need to measure or find the value of one.
Find the length of the inside walls, if you are trying to determine the volume contained within a hollow cube. For example, if you have a cube with sides 10 cm and walls 2 cm thick, the inside will be a cube with sides 6 cm in length.
Take the cube of the value by multiplying it by itself three times. In our example, if you are finding the volume of a 10 cm cube, the volume V = 10 cm * 10 cm * 10 cm = 1000 cubic-cm. For the hollow cube, you cube the value for the inside walls. In our example, V = 6 cm * 6 cm * 6 cm = 216 cubic-cm.
