Create a geometric-person wall decoration. Have each student choose a shape and cut out the geometric shape on colored construction paper. Assist the students in cutting four strips of white paper with scissors. Then, have students fold each strip back 1/2 inch and then forward 1/2 inch until they have created crinkly strips. These strips will be the arms and legs. Demonstrate to each student how to cut circles for the eyes. Allow the students to glue the eyes, legs and arms on their geometric shape.
Show students geometric-shaped blocks to help them understand shapes. Hold one of the shapes in your hand and say the name of the shape. Have the students simultaneously look and say the name of the shape. Allow students to play with geometric-shaped blocks.
