There seems to be some confusion about when Sandbach School was created. According to the current Sandbach School website, it was founded in 1882 by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers as Sandbach Grammar School, and renamed Sandbach School in 1974.
However, the Victoria County History, published in 1967, states that Sandbach School was founded by the Haberdashers' Company in 1889. Therefore, the date of the school's founding may be either 1882 or 1889.
