What do kids think about year round school?

The majority of students surveyed are against extending the school year all year round .

Pros:

- More time to learn material; less likely to forget

- Breaks between months allow for relaxation/less time away from family

- Consistent schedule easier to maintain/easier to stay focused

Cons

- Summer time is valuable and irreplaceable

- Longer school year will make students get bored faster

- Summer provides kids the chance to learn life skills
