Who open the first blind school in US?

The first school for the blind in the US was the New England Asylum for the Blind, which was later renamed to the Perkins School for the Blind. It was opened in 1829 in Boston, Massachusetts, by John Dix Fisher who, along with Samuel Gridley Howe, is credited with establishing it.
