How are the fastest dragsters stopped?

Dragsters use parachutes to slow down after a race. The parachutes are deployed at the end of the track and can generate up to 1,500 pounds of drag, which is enough to slow the dragster from speeds of over 200 miles per hour to a complete stop in just a few seconds.

The parachutes are made of a special lightweight fabric that is designed to withstand the extreme temperatures and forces that are generated during a drag race. The parachutes are also equipped with a variety of safety features, such as tethers and breakaway mechanisms, to ensure that they deploy properly and do not cause any damage to the dragster or the driver.
