Fractals are geometric shapes that can be cut into parts that are a smaller copy of the whole. Many of the images they create are thought to resemble pieces of art. Thus, fractal equations have inspired many a generation of artists, especially mathematician artists. By definition, fractals are created on the computer. However, what the artist does after creating a fractal image on the computer varies from person to person. Fractal art has been used in still images, animation and other media.

Use a fractal generator program like The Fractal Science Kit to start generating fractal images.
-
2
Export the fractal images created into Adobe Photoshop, or a similar editing software.
-
-
3
Edit the fractal images to add color, multiply the images or otherwise manipulate the data.
