Mother: (worried) Sarah, I'm concerned about your grades. You've been slipping lately, and I'm not sure why.
Daughter: (defensive) Mom, I'm just not interested in those subjects. They're boring.
Mother: But you need to do well in school. You have a bright future ahead of you, and you can't afford to let these grades slip.
Daughter: (frustrated) I know, Mom. I'm trying my best.
Mother: I know you are, but I think you're trying to juggle too many things at once. You're in so many extracurricular activities. Maybe it's time to cut back on a few.
Daughter: (angry) Mom! I love my extracurriculars. They're the only thing that makes school bearable.
Mother: (stern) Sarah, I'm not trying to take away the things you love. I just want you to focus on your schoolwork. You're capable of so much more than you're showing me right now.
Daughter: (sighing) Fine. I'll try. But I'm not making any promises.
Mother: (relieved) Thank you, Sarah. I know you can do it.
