Decide on the lesson plan or activity that you want to focus on. Consider what your children are learning in their textbooks and plan ahead for an upcoming lesson plan so that you are ready when the time comes to cover the subject matter.

    • 2

Educate yourself. If you are unfamiliar with the lesson plan, you need to make sure that you fully understand the area in which you are teaching in order to properly teach the students the lesson. The more you know about the lesson plan, the better you will be at teaching it to the students and providing them a fulfilling learning activity.

    • 3

Consider the best way to present the lesson plan. If it is a vocabulary project, consider making your own word searches, crossword puzzles or vocabulary bingo sheets. Consider the scope of the lesson plan in order to determine the most appropriate way to present the information to children in order for them to be engaged and learn the materials to their best abilities. Remember, you are dealing with children, so make it fun and creative to keep their attention and help them learn. This may mean making up coloring pages that can be transformed into homemade booklets, creating flashcards to test the children at math or word work or even posters or printables for around the classroom.

Create your educational material using a variety of websites and software. Lay out the lesson plan, think of age and lesson-appropriate ways to relay the information, and create your worksheets with clipart and fun text.

Print the materials on a laser printer for the most cost-effective way of duplicating enough copies for your classroom.
