Create 50 or more flash cards with names of animals on one side. On the other side have the children either draw or cut and paste a picture of the animal. Now on a large piece of paper or cardboard create a game board. On the game board, draw several different environments the animal can live in. The mountains, the jungle, the desert, the forest, the ocean and others should be included.
Each player draws a card and looks at the Spanish word side. Then the player places the animal in the proper environment. If the animal is placed in the correct environment the team gets a point. The game continues until all the cards are properly placed. The player with the most points wins.
Create a game board with a family tree drawn on it. Create cards with famous family members from cartoons, television programs or movies. Write the name of the family relationship below the open space on the family tree. With the character cards, place each person correctly on the family tree chart. Create question cards to talk about the family relationships. The Brady Bunch, the Addams Family, the Munsters and the Simpsons may be good topics.
Make vocabulary cards with the names of foods. Include a picture on the same side of the card as the word. When a player draws a card he must give clues to his teammates to have them guess which food he is. Clues may be given in English or Spanish depending on the level of fluency. The answer must be in Spanish. If the clue is "I am red and grow on a tree, the correct answer would be, manzana, apple.
