Design a diploma using a computer that has a word processing program. Format the document to a landscape setting. Center all of your text vertically and horizontally on the page. Use a style of font, such as Old English, that is typically used for diplomas.
Include the full legal name of the graduating student and who is declaring that the student fulfilled all the requirements for graduation -- this will be you and your spouse, who are the homeschooling educators, as well as any tutors or outside educators whom you feel is responsible for your child's education.
Add the name of the city and state of the student below the detailed information about the graduate. Include the date of the graduation alongside a 4-inch line for the official signature of the homeschooling parent. Add more than one line in succession below the first line, spaced 3/4 of an inch apart, for each signature for the diploma.
Print the prepared diploma on a plain sheet of computer paper for a test run so you can correct any mistakes and test your ink. Print the final diploma on a sheet of 80-lb. crème or ivory-colored paper using dark blue or black ink.
Allow the diploma time to dry before graduation. Sign the diploma before giving it to your homeschool graduate, either in a formal graduation ceremony or informally. Emboss a gold seal featuring the date or a phrase indicative of homeschooling in the center of the bottom of the signed diploma.
Purchase a blank diploma from a homeschool organization, such as HSLDA.
Fill the information in as requested on the document. Sign the diploma to make it official.
Order a custom-made seal to be added to the diploma to make it appear more professional, if desired.
Request to have the blank diploma preprinted, if desired. Preorder a printed diploma so you receive it before the child's graduation ceremony.
