Determine on which theme the book report will focus. Perhaps your teacher has assigned you a specific theme to be the central focus of your paper or maybe you were tasked with choosing a theme from the novel and writing a paper on it. Either way, determining the theme is important to organizing the thoughts you want to express in your book report.
Find key examples of the theme in the book. Quotes can provide supporting information throughout your report. Depending on the length of your book report, three to five quotes will probably suffice for supporting your theme.
Create a title for your book report that is related to the theme and include it on the first page.
Write an introduction, body and conclusion for your essay using the examples of the theme you found in your chosen book. Make sure your grammar, spelling and punctuation are strong.
Provide a Works Cited page at the end of your book report that cites the book on which your report is focused and any other sources you used to write your book report.
