-Ethics Requirement: 2 hours directly related to the practice of architecture
Reporting continuing education:
Self report your continuing education through Mass.gov.
All self-reporting is based on the honor system. The board, however, may decide to randomly audit any renewal application. Architects subject to an audit may be required to submit any supporting documents (such as certificates of completion) required to satisfy the board that the continuing education hours have actually been obtained. If such documentation is not submitted to the satisfaction of the board, the renewal may be denied.
Massachusetts License Reciprocity
Massachusetts is part of the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) Interstate Council (IC). To qualify to practice architecture in more than one state via the Interstate Council, architects must register in their state of legal residence and any additional states in which they wish to practice.
Architects holding licensure in another state which has the same NCARB ID # as Massachusetts can usually gain licensure via endorsement.
