First Response Training Services provides first aid training and equipment for the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast. It offer courses in CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) and hazardous materials safety courses. The courses are taught by nationally registered emergency medical services instructors. Instructors will come to you or your company for a fee of $2 per driving mile, and each individual or group course requires a non-refundable fee of $75 to $250.
CPR instructor Jonathan Moore, with offices just outside Picayune, offers three classroom CPR courses, two online courses and one at-home course. Classroom courses are held on Saturdays, and online courses are held Monday through Friday. The $35 at-home course includes an instructional DVD, an adult CPR mannequin and an instructional pamphlet. Registration for classes, including a name and phone number, must be completed by phone.
The American Red Cross offers classes in CPR and AED for southern Mississippi every other weekend in Hattiesburg. These three-day classroom courses teach CPR at different levels on alternate weekends. Classes on the first weekend teaches individuals to become instructors; classes on the second weekend teach standard CPR and first aid, including first aid for infants. Shorter and less expensive classes are available each weekend in Pascagoula.
FirstAidWeb offers six online courses in aspects of adult, child and infant CPR and then administers a quiz at the end so you can receive your certification. The certification is valid for two years, and you can purchase a wallet certificate or wall plaque for $25.
