Take some of the saw dust and sprinkle it on to any dents on the 6 boards of wood. Use glue to fix the saw dust on the boards of wood. Rough sand the surface of the boards using the sandpaper so as to obtain a smooth surface. This ensures the delicate covers of magazines are not damaged by rough wood.
Cut one block of wood into two 2-inch strips. Lay two of the remaining five boards of wood flat on the ground to commence building the frame of the bookshelf. Lay another board of wood parallel to the other two boards of wood. Ensure the strip overlaps the boards by an inch on both ends by measuring the distance using a tape. Use the screws to firmly attach overlapping board firmly on both ends. Fix the two 2-inch strips on either overlapping ends and screw them firmly on the sideboards. These acts as reinforcement forming the upper part of the bookshelf
Cut another board of wood using the saw so its length is exactly as the length of the top one without overlapping the ends. Attach this board of wood to the lower side of the other side boards using glue then fix it firmly using screw completing the bottom part.
Lay the bookshelf frame downside-up. Cut the plywood using the saw to fit the length and width of the frame. Fix the plywood to the side, upper and lower boards to form the backside of the bookshelf.
Measure the length of the inside of the bookshelf from the top to bottom board. With a marker, divide the inside shelf into three equal sections. Measure again the outside of the shelf and make marks that coincide with those on the inside. Cut the remaining two pieces of wood so they fit exactly into the shelf. Attach the boards of wood one on each mark using nails and a hammer. Do this for the other end, completing the added shelves.
Use screws to fix the corner braces so as to make your work more attractive.
Paint the whole surface of the bookshelf using a brush. Apply a layer of varnish to make it more appealing.
