Write your introduction. Your introduction will include an introduction to the technology topic, a background as to why it's important and a clear and concise overview of your view on the issue. In addition to these points, your introduction should encourage or interest your reader to read further.
Present the counterargument to your view point or position. Summarize the counterclaims and point of view, provide information supporting the counterargument and provide evidence and arguments to effectively refute it. Include a point-counterpoint table as a reference for this section. This will help you argue your point convincingly. Be sure to present the counterpoint fairly and objectively in ways that demonstrate to the reader that you have given the counterargument due consideration as opposed to just dismissing it. This is especially true since some of readers may be individuals who favor the counterarguments.
Present a detailed overview of your main argument. This is the meat of your position paper. Break your main position/argument up into several sub-arguments such argument number 1, number 2 and number 3. For each sub-argument, give your educated opinion supported by at least three independent and reputable sources. Also, make sure you have at least three sub-arguments. You can have more than three, but not less than three.
Write your conclusion. Restate your main argument citing your primary sources. Again, give due consideration to the counterargument while reinforcing your argument in the reader's mind. If applicable to your argument, provide a plan of action that will move the reader to action.
