Differences in HD Cameras

High-definition (HD) cameras are known for their quality production of images and videos. Many people use HD cameras for professional duty or just for casual purposes thanks to the high quality photo production. However, HD cameras vary from one another based on aspects of their designs.
  1. Image Sizes

    • HD cameras have their own image sizes according to the manufacturer's specifications. These images are dependent on the image resolution specific to the HD camera. Some HD cameras are equipped with resolutions of up to 720p while other HD cameras have 1080p. This difference in image sizes makes some HD cameras more preferable to use than others.

    Frame Rates

    • Frame rate recording is useful to achieve fast- or slow-motion effects. HD cameras can record with varying frame rates from 24 frames per second to 60 frames per second. A 720p60 camera CCD can record at a constant rate of about 60 frames per second.

    Resolution Format

    • Different resolution formats are available in various HD cameras. Some HD cameras produce images in the MJPEG format while others produce images in the H.264 image format. These formats are inclusive of their own resolution format, so the images produced vary in quality. The different resolution formats are specified to the camera by the brand.

    Additional Features

    • HD cameras offer additional features to attract buyers and to equip the camera to perform different tasks. Some HD cameras are waterproof while others have zoom features.
