    • Motivation can prove difficult if you have a negative or pessimistic attitude, however it is not impossible to change that. By learning and practicing changing negative thoughts to something positive as they occur you will increase your motivation. In order to do this and to be a motivated person you need to constantly strive for excellence and show commitment to persistently pursuing your goals. Treat obstacles and setbacks as challenges rather than a deterrent.

    • By recognizing and relating to the feelings and emotions of another person you can better understand the behaviors of other people. When you understand people better you are yourself better equipped to help, manage or develop people from all walks of life. A higher level of empathy is possible when you are able to feel and identify a range of your own emotions.

    Social Skills

    • Social skills are an essential component of a high emotional intelligence. The ability to communicate clearly with other people, and the ability to negotiate and collaborate are critical components of emotional intelligence. As well as being important in the workplace, social skills are as important in your personal life. With a good level of social skills, interaction with your family and friends is ultimately made easier.
