Construct your heading. The job shadowing report should include your full name at the top. Your instructor might also require things in the header like your student ID number, the course you're completing the assignment for or the date the assignment is handed in.
Detail who you were job shadowing, that person's position within the company and what the career field you were shadowing in the first paragraph.
Discuss what you wanted to learn from the job shadowing experience going into it, such as the education involved in the career or what kind of hands-on work is required.
Discuss what you observed during the day you shadowed the professional. This will include the specific job duties you observed, such as a receptionist sending faxes or a manager conducting a meeting.
Give information about what you and the professional talked about. The professional may have explained some specific job-related processes, told you more about the career path in general, the training required for the career or general advice for someone who wants to pursue the career.
Write what you learned from the job shadowing and whether or not is aligned with what you wanted to learn going into it in the final paragraph. Mention others things you'd like to learn about the career, as well as whether or not you would recommend that another student interested in the career should shadow with the same person or company that you did and why or why not.
