Side Effects of Methandrostenolone

Methandrostenolone was the second anabolic steroid produced behind testosterone. Research on Methandrostenolone was performed in the 1980s. This research concluded that Methandrostenolone increases strength, fat-free mass and performance. As with most steroids, people may experience adverse side effects with Methandrostenolone use. A doctor should be consulted before beginning a regiment that involves taking any steroid including Methandrostenolone.

    History

    • Methandrostenolone was created in 1956 by John Zeigler who was a doctor working with the American weightlifting team at the time. It was developed under the trade name, "Dianabol." Dr. Zeigler recommended that athletes at that time use between 5 and 10 mg of Dianabol per day. This substance was created after the success of Russian testosterone use in the Olympic games.

    Side Effects

    • This steroid is potent and associated with several noticeable side effects. Methandrostenolone is very estrogenic. Gynecomastia, the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males, is a big concern and can present itself early on in a Dianabol regimen. Water retention can easily become a problem and cause a loss of muscle definition as fat and subcutaneous water build. Androgenic effects such as oily skin, acne and facial or body hair growth may present themselves throughout a Dianabol regimen.

    Considerations

    • While taking Dianabol, people may want to take anti-estrogens to keep estrogen levels under control. As with any potent steroid use, increased feelings of aggression may emerge while on Dianabol. Using this steroid can also aggravate male pattern baldness conditions. Care must be taken while using Dianabol as it is known to raise blood pressure and is considered to be liver-toxic.

    Features

    • Dianabol is available as an injection but is usually found in pill form. Dianabol is derived from testosterone and exhibits strong anabolic and androgenic properties. This steroid is altered at the 17th carbon position so it can pass through the liver to the blood stream easier.

    Dosing

    • Dianabol has a half-life of about three to four hours. This means that a single dose will produce varying blood levels resulting in ups and downs throughout the day. It is recommended that Dianabol pills be divided and taken at intervals to regulate concentrations in the blood. The average recommended daily dose is between 20 and 40 mg. This steroid is popularly used by males however, females have noticed desired results when using low doses consisting of 5 mg or less per day. A person is more likely to experience undesirable side effects while taking doses higher than those recommended.
