How to Track Overnight Mail

The United States Postal Service offers a guaranteed overnight mailing service called “Express Mail.” When patrons mail items using Express Mail, the USPS guarantees overnight delivery or it will refund postage fees. Once you mail your item using Express Mail, you can then track the overnight mail using a specific tracking number supplied by the USPS. This tracking number will advise you of the item's progress through the postal system.

  Take your item to the USPS and mail the item using the Express Mail service. Pay for the postage.

  Request a tracking number when you mail the item. The number you will use to track your item is either a label number or a receipt number from your mailing transaction.

  Visit usps.com and enter the label number or receipt number into the empty field. Press “Go.”

  View the progress of the item as it travels through the Express Mail system. You will likely see either “Acceptance” (which means the item is in the postal system), “Arrival” (which means the item is at the post office that will deliver it) or “Delivered” (which means the recipient has received the item).
