Information on the 1996 Mercury Mystique

Mercury assembled its Mystique line of automobiles between 1995 and 2000. In 1996, Mercury manufactured two different models of the Mystique: the Mystique GS and the Mystique LS.

    • 1996 Mercury Mystiques are fitted with a four-cylinder engine that features a 2.0-liter piston displacement. The bore and stroke on this engine is 3.27 by 3.62 inches, and the compression ratio is 9.1:1.

    • Both Mercury Mystique models made in 1996 offer a 125-horsepower output while the engine is running at 5,500 rotations per minute. While the engine is running at 3,000 rotations per minute, torque output is 127 foot-pounds.

    Features

    • The Mercury Mystiques made in 1996 feature either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The fuel tank fitted has the capacity to hold 14.5 gallons of fuel.

    Fuel Efficiency

    • 1996 Mercury Mystiques that feature the automatic transmission offer 23 mpg (miles per gallon) fuel economy in the city and 32 mpg economy on the highway. Models with a manual transmission offer 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
