Decide if you are willing to pay for content. The most comprehensive sites, which help you to speak and hear Albanian as well as read and write it, often charge money, such as Learn Albanian Online and Funky Albanian, which teaches slang and offers audio clips for pronunciation practice.
You can still learn Albanian if you do not want to pay, but you will probably need a larger collection of websites to help you study. Bookmark the free websites you find that help build vocabulary, give reading and writing practice, and offer audio files to improve your listening.
Search the Web with phrases such as "learn Albanian online" and "how to learn Albanian online." Also look for websites set up to help language students with many different languages; Albanian may be among them.
Talk to native speakers and let them check your progress; if you have elected not to pay, set up a language exchange to do this. Find a pen pal or study buddy on a website such as MyLanguageExchange.com, which is designed to help language students look for practice partners. Post your homework on the bulletin boards of websites such as Livemocha, where volunteers can check them. Check out Livemocha's Skype language-exchange program, too, for speaking practice.
Prove to yourself what you have learned, and have fun doing it, by sometimes studying in more creative ways.
Watch Albanian TV by going to 101languages.net (See References Five) and clicking on "Watch Albanian TV" in the upper left-hand corner of the Albanian page. Practice your listening skills and write down words and phrases you hear but do not recognize. Then look them up in your dictionary or ask your tutor on Skype about them.
Play games in Albanian in the Albanian section of Digital Dialects. They offer games for beginners in basics such as numbers, days of the week and animals.
Search for your Albanian interests on YouTube and other video sites. For example, if you like Albanian music, type in "Albanian music" and see how much you understand in the songs you hear. Browse the comments as well; you might get lucky and connect with others whom you can study .
