The ASVAB test requires basic knowledge in areas such as algebra, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Brush up on your skills by hiring a tutor, or check out library books that will help you study. For many people, the math section may be the most difficult. Information about what the ASVAB math section covers is linked in the Resources section.
Giving yourself ample studying time for the ASVAB will help you test as well as possible. If you do not score as highly as you wish, however, you can take the ASVAB again.
Rest for an ample amount of time the night before the test. Do not stay up all night studying because you risk sleep deprivation, which may harm your test performance. Being hungry during the test also may harm your score. A filling breakfast of healthy, energy-rich foods, such as oatmeal with fruit, is beneficial. Dressing in comfortable clothing for the test also is helpful. Take extra pencils and your identification to the test.
Concentrating on the test and relaxing are important while you take the test. Do not leave a test question unanswered because wrong answers will not subtract from your score. Each mark you make must be legible to avoid incorrect scoring.
