Select the "Tools" option from the "Window" menu on the main Adobe CS3 menu bar. Observe that a menu of drawing tools icon appears.
Look on the the drawing tool menu for a pencil icon. Position your mouse cursor over the pencil icon. Press and release the "left mouse" button to activate the pencil tool.
Position your mouse cursor over the drawing area (canvas). Press and hold down the "left mouse" button and drag your mouse to a new position. Observe that a line is drawn that follows the mouse as you move it.
Release the mouse button to stop drawing. Reposition your mouse cursor, press down and hold the "left mouse button" to resume drawing again. Release the "left mouse button" to stop drawing again. Continue in this manner until you complete your drawing.
Look in the drawing tool menu for the "erasor icon." Position your mouse cursor over the "erasor" icon and verify that the "tool tip" that appears displays "Erasor" and a shortcut key(the key on your keyboard you can also use to to activate the eraser function). Click the "eraser" icon to activate the eraser function.
Position your mouse over the drawing area. Press the "left mouse button" down and drag your mouse over the lines you want to erase. Observe that the lines disappear as you drag the mouse over them pixel by pixel.
