  1. Cordless Power Tools

    • Several different types of cordless power tools are available from Ridgid. They manufacture a series of drills that includes models of hammer drills, two-speed drill drivers, single-speed drill drivers and compact drill drivers. A couple of cordless impact drivers are also available from Ridgid. This company manufactures cordless circular saws as well as cordless reciprocating saws, cordless collated screwdrivers and a multipurpose device called the "JobMax."

    Output

    • The Ridgid X4 hammer drill offers 565 foot-pounds of torque while the 12-volt, two-speed Fuego Ridgid drill driver offers 300 foot-pounds of torque. Ridgid's compact cordless impact driver is designed to produce a maximum 1,440 foot-pounds of torque. The cordless Ridgid circular saw spins its blade attachment at approximately 4,400 rotations per minute. Ridgid's cordless collated screwdriver turns screws at a rate of around 3,500 rotations per minute. The JobMax right-angle, drill-driver head attachment offers 120 foot-pounds of torque, while the impact driver head attachment offers 650 foot-pounds of torque.

    Features

    • X4 hammer drills feature carbide locking mechanisms that firmly hold bits and attachments in the tool during high-torque applications. This tool was designed with a die cast gearbox. Two-speed, Fuego drill drivers feature an LED light that blinks when its battery runs low. The 18-volt, compact impact driver by Ridgid is one of the lightest compact impact drivers available. Ridgid cordless circular saws feature a magnesium base, which lowers the weight of the unit and increases durability. Ridgid's cordless collated screwdriver can accommodate screws that range in length between 1 and 3 inches. The JobMax multipurpose tool features several attachments including a right-angle impact driver head, a ratchet head and an auto-hammer head.

    Lithium-Ion Batteries

    • Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable and offer many benefits when used in cordless power tools. Ridgid employs either a 12-volt or an 18-volt lithium-ion battery in their cordless power tools. Depending on the tool, Ridgid cordless power tool batteries can fully charge in anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes. Lithium-ion batteries are engineered to last for around 3 years or 500 charge/discharge cycles. Unlike other rechargeable batteries like nickel-cadmium batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not tend to self-discharge while in storage for extended periods.
