How to Create a Desktop Widget in Flash

Desktop widgets can make your computing life easier and more pleasant, giving you a simple desktop means of accessing such things as a calculator, calendar, music player, video movie or slide show. One of the easier ways to create desktop widgets is to use the Adobe Flash Professional software program. With Flash you can create almost any type of widget that will play on any type of computer without the need for a player. And it's simple too. Just select a few menu options and your widget is ready to go.

Things You'll Need

  • Adobe Flash Professional: CS3, CS4 or CS5 versions
