Telecommunication Art Lessons

When the impulse to learn art hits and there is no educational resources with which to pursue that interest it can be frustrating. However, as distance learning and online education becomes more the norm the availability of telecommunication art courses increases. There is a variety of resources the budding artist can access to help her hone her creative talents in an affordable and reputable manner without ever having to leave the comfort of her home.

    • Interactive Art School (interactiveartschool.com) offers a variety of technically based courses for the beginner or intermediate artist. Courses range from beginner's drawing to oil painting to comic or fantasy illustration. As of 2011 Interactive art school's courses require the student to use a digital camera and range from $700-$995 depending upon the course. Each course comes with instruction and critique of work by artist Barry Waldman.

    Drawspace

    • Drawspace (drawspace.com) is an interactive community of professional artists and students where art enthusiasts can enroll in dozens of online art courses taught by artists around the country. The website uses a database of courses offered by artists of various skill levels. Drawspace offers courses from basic drawing to landscape drawing and figure drawing. There are courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced artists. At the time of this writing in 2011, course prices range from free to those exceeding $500, depending upon the course.

    Creative Spotlite

    • Creative Spotlite (creativespotlite.com) is a resource for artists who want to learn a variety of art techniques and is free. The website uses various artists who create online video demonstrations of various techniques to which budding artists refer when learning a particular medium. The site offers courses in everything from watercolor to oil and acrylic and even photography. This is a smart option for the art student who is unsure of whether she wants to invest in an art education.

    Academy of Art University

    • For the more serious art student, the Academy of Art University (aau.edu) offers a variety of both degree-seeking and non-degree art classes for the burgeoning artist. The University offers some courses to degree-seeking students in drawing, photography and painting. However, most courses are offered to university admitted undergraduate or graduate students. Each course is led by a college-educated art instructor and provides unique, personalized feedback on all work submitted. Interested students should contact AAU admissions.
