Contact the Toshiba America Foundation (see Reference 1) and request guidelines and application forms.
Note all deadlines.
Make a detailed list of the supplies and equipment you'll need.
Research past awards granted by the foundation to understand their funding preferences.
Check previous recipient's grants against your classroom wish list.
Edit your list.
Research the cost of supplies and equipment being requested.
Fill out the budget sheet of the application.
Remember to include all tax amounts and shipping costs.
Write the narrative sections of the application, following the guidelines of the grant to the letter. State class needs clearly and accurately.
Explain how the success of the grant will be evaluated.
Get all the required signatures form the administrators from the school district one week ahead of
the submission date.
Proof read the grant for proper spelling, grammar and style.
Make the number of copies required by the Toshiba America Foundation.
Submit the grant application and the extra copies before the deadline.
If you are awarded a grant, spend the funds exactly as stated in the application, unless there is written permission from the foundation to do otherwise.
